SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — The Springfield Police Department (SPD) is investigating an officer-involved shooting that left a suspect critically injured during a domestic incident Wednesday night.
SPD says on Dec. 24, 2025, at approximately 9 p.m., officers responded to a domestic disturbance in the 2400 block of N. East Ave. When SPD arrived, they found the suspect holding the victim against her will.
While officers were setting up the perimeter, the victim was able to escape the home. The suspect then exited the home with a gun pointed at officers, and the officers engaged and shot the suspect, SPD says.
