Dog rescued after being left behind in Oregon flood waters

A Woodburn man has been arrested for animal neglect after leaving his dog outside during a flood evacuation.

The Marion County Sheriff’s Office rescued the dog, named Bruno, on Dec. 21. Officers responded to a report about a dog seemingly left behind. His owners had evacuated due to flooding from an last week’s atmospheric river.

When officers responded, they found Bruno the German shepherd in more than a foot of cold flood water, locked inside a kennel with his flooded doghouse…
