PORTLAND, Ore. — Portland Fire & Rescue crews put out a fire that involved a Christmas tree earlier this week, prompting them to warn people about the dangers of having a dry tree.

The fire, which was reported on Monday at a home in the Cathedral Park neighborhood, likely started when a very dry tree was placed near a fireplace. They said it seems an open flame extended to the tree.
