HFD rescues injured hiker on Koko Head on Christmas morning

HAWAII KAI (KHON2) — The Honolulu Fire Department rescued an injured hiker on Koko Head Crater Trail on Christmas morning.

Hiking safety tips from Hawaii DLNR

On Dec. 25 at 10:08 a.m., HFD received a 911 call about an injured hiker and responded to the scene with six units staffed with 18 firefighters.

The hiker, a woman in her 40s, was injured on the Koko Head Crater Trail, making her unable to make it back down the trail.

Once HFD arrived at 10:18 a.m., they went to rescue the hiker on foot and prepare a landing zone for air operations…
