Man on bond for murder arrested after Robertson County traffic stop

ROBERTSON COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — A man who was already on bond for murder in West Tennessee was taken into custody in Robertson County on Christmas Eve as a result of a traffic stop.

The Greenbrier Police Department said officers stopped a vehicle because of a traffic violation on Wednesday, Dec. 24, but during the DUI investigation, the offender ran away. When authorities pursued him, they reportedly noticed a loaded handgun fall from his waistband.

After law enforcement caught the suspect, they learned he had another loaded handgun and a controlled substance in his possession, according to officials. In addition, police discovered the individual was out on bond in Shelby County for first-degree murder.

Authorities said they brought the offender to the Robertson County Jail, where he was charged with possession of a controlled substance, two counts of prohibited possession of a firearm, evading arrest, resisting arrest, driving under the influence, and traffic violations.
