Plan ahead for holiday travel, don’t drive impaired, S.C. troopers warn

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) — With the number of people hitting the road for the Christmas holidays set to surpass last year’s record, drivers can expect to see an increased law enforcement presence.

The group AAA projects more than 109.5 million people will travel at least 50 miles from home between Christmas Eve and New Year’s Day. That number surpasses last year’s record of 119.7 million.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol will be out in force to help keep Palmetto State travel safe.
