ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – Residents at Peterson Meadows gathered Christmas Day for an annual holiday dinner, spending the afternoon sharing a meal and time with one another.
Peterson Meadows is an independent senior retirement community in Rockford. The Christmas dinner gave residents the opportunity to celebrate the holiday together, whether or not they had family visiting that day.
Resident Sandy Goetz, who has lived at Peterson Meadows for two years, says she enjoys spending time with her friends at the center.
“What does Christmas mean to me? Mainly, it’s family because I no longer have any,” said Goetz. “This is family, everybody here is family.”…
