FERGUSON, Mo. — Candles flickered and balloons filled the sky Tuesday evening as family, friends, and community members gathered to honor 45-year-old LaTasha Brown and her 9-year-old daughter, Paige Buckner, a mother and child killed after being found shot inside a burning home in north St. Louis just days before Christmas.
The vigil and balloon release took place outside LaTasha’s former office on West Florissant Avenue, a place her family says was deeply meaningful.
