SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — A Springfield restaurant known for its creative burgers is also known for something else, giving back. Each Christmas, Black Sheep Burgers & Shakes opens its doors to anyone who needs a hot meal, turning the holiday into a tradition of community support.
The effort is led by the Jalili family, owners of Flame Steakhouse, Char, and Black Sheep. Co‑owner Mike Jalili says the idea is simple, make sure people who have nowhere else to go feel welcome.
“We just open the doors for three hours and give complimentary burgers,” Jalili said. “It’s huge to them because they have nowhere to go… We had such a great year. And I think when things are good, life is good. You’ve got to give.”…
