A Northeast Side family’s Christmas gathering in San Antonio turned into a late-night yard brawl early today, leaving a father critically injured from a stabbing and his son hospitalized with a head wound, according to police.
What Police Say Happened
San Antonio police say it started around 1:20 a.m. near Castle Hunt Drive and Castle Cross Drive, where relatives were celebrating in the front yard. According to officers, the family’s father punched a man who was walking by. That man left, then came back a few minutes later with several others, and the group allegedly jumped the family.
During the fight, the father was stabbed in the chest and taken to Brooke Army Medical Center in critical condition. His son was hit across the forehead with a baseball bat and treated at a local hospital, as reported by News 4 San Antonio.
