Las Vegas Police Traffic Squad Reports Over 13,000 Stops and 200+ Arrests in Safety Crackdown

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s Traffic LIFE Squad reported that between September 20 and December 16, it conducted “13,040 traffic stops and person stops” and issued “14,416 citations issued” as part of its ongoing efforts to reduce traffic fatalities. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department also took action against noncompliant drivers, with “617 vehicles towed/impounded,” “84 DUI arrests,” and “207 other arrests.”

Despite these enforcement efforts, the grim reality remains that “160 people” have lost their lives on roads under Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department jurisdiction so far in 2025.
