The National Weather Service issued an updated winter storm warning at 5:30 a.m. Friday, effective from 4 p.m. through 1 p.m. Saturday. The alert covers Schoharie, Albany, Greene, Columbia, Ulster and Dutchess counties.
“Total snow accumulations between 5 and 10 inches,” are anticipated, the NWS reported. “Moderate to heavy snow will develop early tonight and will remain heavy overnight. Snowfall rates of one to two inches an hour will be possible at times overnight. The snow will taper off Saturday morning to scattered snow showers and flurries.”
