CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) — The International African American Museum in downtown Charleston will host a Kwanzaa celebration Sunday evening.
The event invites families to explore the holiday celebration’s seven principles through interactive activities, music and storytelling.
Communities will celebrate Kwanzaa for seven days, each one representing a different principle to foster in daily life:
- Umoja – Unity
- Ujima – Collective work and responsibility
- Nia – Purpose
- Kujichagulia – Self-determination
- Ujamaa – Cooperative economics
- Kuumba – Creativity
- Imani – Faith
Organizers encourage everyone to attend and connect with the community, whether they celebrate Kwanzaa annually or are new to the tradition…
