Flu cases on the rise across the region

Across the country, hospitals and clinics are seeing an uptick in flu cases, and that includes in Johnston County.

Dr. Rodney McCaskill, chief medical officer at UNC Health Johnston, said there’s been a significant increase in positive cases in the emergency department, and some patients have been admitted to the hospital.

“Don’t take your kids to see the grandparents if they are running a fever or if the kids are sick,” he said. He also advised folks who are advancing in age or who have risk factors to get a flu vaccine…
