Vacant Toledo house deemed ‘code red’ property following overnight fire

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – Fire officials are working to determine what sparked a fire at a vacant house in Toledo.

Toledo Fire and Rescue crews were called out to 1327 Elmwood Avenue just after 2 a.m. on Dec. 26. No one was injured in the fire.

A battalion chief at the scene told 13 Action News crews that the property will be labeled as a “code red” house due to the extent of the damage from the fire. That means it’s not structurally safe for firefighters to enter if it ever catches fire again…
