Zoo Atlanta to help families ring in the new year — during the day

In one of the more novel ways to usher in the New Year, the iconic Zoo Atlanta will welcome 2026 with a fun day for the whole family on Wednesday, Dec. 31.

The zoo, which is home to hundreds of animals representing more than 200 species from around the world, many of them endangered or critically endangered, will be the site of the Coca-Cola Zoo Year’s Eve Countdown, with countdowns running at noon, 1 p.m., 2 p.m., 3 p.m. and 4 p.m., the perfect time for youngsters who can’t make it to the midnight hour.

Also scheduled for the New Year’s Eve event is a dance party with DJ Matt and Clue Spotter the Otter (who will be waiting on the dance floor to welcome moves and grooves of all ages); an opportunity to meet the Coca-Cola Polar Bear; visits from Squeeze the Clown at 11:15 a.m., 1:15 p.m. and 2:15 p.m.; and bounce house fun…
