(KIMT) — Our next winter storm is brewing and it could cause some hefty travel impacts as you head back from Christmas celebrations. As of Friday morning, we are increasingly confident in a Sunday morning through Monday morning timeframe with an arctic cold front bringing strong NW winds behind the boundary.
Precipitation will start out Sunday morning as pure rain as temperatures will be above freezing. As the arctic front approaches, temperatures will quickly tumble. By mid-morning, precipitation will already start to changeover from rain to a rain/snow mixture.
