HUDSON — A Hudson man who tried to gulp down thousands of dollars in crack cocaine after being pulled over on the Taconic Parkway in May pleaded guilty to a high-level felony Tuesday.
Kareem Blocker, 49, pleaded guilty to second-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance in front of Columbia County Judge Brian Herman. Blocker had faced a litany of charges after being indicted by a grand jury on June 3, including four other drug possession charges and misdemeanor resisting arrest.
Blocker was pulled over on May 30 by State Police, who said they “observed him to be profusely sweating and moving erratically,” according to the Columbia County District Attorney’s Office. He exited his vehicle upon the officer’s request, and then “with no warning” ran back to the car, “thrusting himself through the driver’s side window and began ingesting the drugs, causing some to scatter onto the roadway.”…
