TRANSYLVANIA COUNTY, N.C. (FOX Carolina) – Transylvania County Rescue Squad described how they rescued stranded rock climbers on Monday.
Officials said the squad was dispatched to the Sunwall area of Looking Glass Rock in search of an overdue party who spent an unplanned night on the wall. They had made contact at 1 a.m. to report being stranded 200 feet up a cliff.
A drone search did not locate the missing party. Teams were sent to the top and bottom of the rock. The team at the top was to conduct a visual and auditory search while being prepared to off the side of the rock, according to officials…
