Birmingham teen turns Christmas tree removal into green business

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – A Birmingham area teenager has turned holiday cleanup into a green business and is now in his fourth year of removing Christmas trees and giving them new life.

Christopher Agee, a 17-year-old Oak Mountain High School junior, spends his Christmas break hauling away trees and making sure they don’t end up in a landfill. What started as a way to make extra money and help neighbors has turned into an annual business that keeps growing.

So far this year, Agee has around 30 people signed up for his tree removal service. His pricing structure is based on tree size and width.

“5 to 6 feet will be $15. Now, if you have like a 7 foot tree, but it’s very skinny, we’ll charge you about $20. But if you have something like this here, it’s about, I don’t know, 11 feet, and it’s really wide, we’ll charge you about $25,” Agee said…
