Hartland Fire Company steps up to help family who lost everything in Christmas Eve fire

NIAGARA COUNTY, N.Y. (WIVB) — The Niagara County community of Hartland is rallying around a local family who lost everything in a devastating house fire on Christmas Eve.

“It hits especially hard when it’s one of your own, and when you go there knowing that it’s one of your fellow brothers or sisters,” explained Hartland Volunteer Fire Company Chief Nicholas Daningburg, who told WIVB News 4 that was the reality for his crew when they got the call.

The house crews were called to belonged to the fire company’s own chaplain and Hartland Town Justice, James Minner. It hit close to home as nearly all of the Minner family volunteers with the fire company…
