COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) – Valley Rescue Mission and volunteers delivered nearly 100 Christmas meals to people throughout the community on Christmas Day.
Starting at 9 a.m. Thursday morning, a total of 85 meals were picked up from the Valley Rescue Mission Women’s Recovery Center on 11th Avenue in Columbus and brought directly to the homes of those in need.
“The joy when you talk to people when you’re bringing the food, they give you conversation and a lot of time they even try to give you something to take back with you…whether it’s a book or a note or something,” said Jarvis Hamilton, who was volunteering for his 23rd year…
