Brighten Initiative helps youth address homeless hygiene gaps

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – When four teenagers started a non-profit dedicated to helping the homeless, they had no idea how far it would go. Now, through the Brighten Initiative, they’re helping homeless individuals across Ohio get necessities for free.

After finishing an internship with the Ohio Attorney General’s Office, 17-year-old Hersh Gandhi was introduced to many health inequities. His experience then pushed him to ask three friends to help him do something about it.
