Suspicious package left at Upstate clothing store Christmas Eve

A suspicious package resulted in Christmas Eve commotion at an Upstate clothing store. The Anderson County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Ross Dress For Less store on Station Drive in Anderson, Wednesday evening.

The Sheriff’s Office says they got a report that a man brought in a suspicious package and left it on one of the racks before leaving the store. A bomb squad was called in and examined the package.

It was determined to be an anti-theft device from the store that had been cut off. The device was wrapped in something else in what appears to have been an effort to shoplift…
