Suspected Shooter Apprehended After Arlington Party Violence Leaves Five Wounded

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office has responded to a violent incident that occurred over the weekend at a short-term rental property in Arlington, where a confrontation at a party escalated into a tragic shooting that left five young individuals wounded. This information, according to a press release from the JSO, details that the event took place on Saturday, and during an altercation between two groups, numerous shots were fired.

According to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, despite the gravity of their injuries the victims, struck by bullets during the chaos, were quickly transported to local hospitals where they are currently receiving medical attention, expected to survive this harrowing ordeal, in the aftermath of the dispute, JSO’s Robbery and Violent Crime Unit detectives took the reins of this investigation, working determinedly to trace the origin of such unwarranted aggression and ensure the safety of Jacksonville’s residents.

Through the investigative work, law enforcement identified 19-year-old Kenshawn Prentice as the alleged perpetrator, as a subsequent arrest warrant charged him with five counts of attempted murder and one count of possession of a firearm by a juvenile delinquent. On Tuesday, a joint operation involving the JSO SWAT Team and the U.S. Marshals Task Force resulted in Prentice’s apprehension at a Northside residence on Sibbald Road, where he was taken into custody without incident…
