KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – The last time Rick Russo anchored a WVLT sportscast was November 11th. Nearly two months later, Russo is continuing to recover from a procedure to remove his second and final kidney after he was diagnosed with kidney cancer a second time.
Russo has been undergoing dialysis treatment, but has continued progressing back to health and a hopeful return to the WVLT airwaves. He sat down with sports colleague John Sartori to chat about his progress and to thank his supporters throughout East Tennessee and beyond.
