JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WHJL) — “Savanna’s Law,” set to take effect in 2026, will establish a registry for domestic violence offenders. The law is named in honor of Savanna Puckett, a 22-year-old Tennessee sheriff’s deputy who was murdered in her home in 2022.
The registry will list repeat domestic violence offenders. Lawmakers behind Savanna’s law said the goal is about prevention and gives people access to information that was previously unavailable.
