A Walmart employee was arrested after allegedly stealing merchandise from the store at Buffalo Ridge Plaza in The Villages.
Theresa Lynch Saylor, 59, of Summerfield, was arrested Tuesday at the store on a felony charge of theft.
The Massachusetts native was caught on surveillance skip scanning merchandise when she was using a self-checkout lane for her personal shopping, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. The alleged thefts date from Oct. 27 through Nov. 14. In the first case, she failed to scan a bag of dog food valued at $14.97, which had been on the bottom of her cart.
