Affluent neighborhoods with custom-built homes are common in the Johnson County community of Overland Park, where the city government website says median annual household income tops $100,000.
That northeast Kansas city was identified as being the “least disadvantaged” among 182 communities studied in a recent nationwide survey conducted by the WalletHub personal finance website.
Overland Park performed “better than every other city studied, which aligns with its high average income and overall strong economic, health, and safety conditions,” WalletHub analyst Chip Lupo told The Capital-Journal in a Dec. 19 email.
