Kansas City church gave away 20K lbs. of free groceries day after Christmas

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – A Kansas City Church is set to give away 20,000 lbs. of free groceries to help families struggling with food insecurity after the holidays.

Unity of Southeast Kansas City said it will distribute fresh food starting at 1 p.m. at 3421 E. Meyer Blvd. Anyone need can show up – no requirements, no questions asked.

Church leaders said they skipped Christmas Eve and Christmas Day services to prepare for the giveaway…
