ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ/Gray News) – A family in Virginia says they were bitten and injured by bedbugs during a transatlantic flight operated by Delta Air Lines and KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, according to a lawsuit.
In the lawsuit, the Albuquerque family began their travels from Roanoke-Blacksburg Regional Airport.
Two hours into their second flight from Atlanta to Amsterdam on March 21, one of the family members “began feeling like bugs were crawling on her and that she was being bitten; it was at this point that she realized that bugs were crawling on her light-colored sweater”, according to court documents.
The bites caused welts and rashes all over the bodies of the parents and children, court documents say.
