Leesburg Police Investigate Accidental Shooting at Bank

Leesburg Police detectives are investigating after a man shot himself a bank parking lot Friday morning. The shooting is believed to have been accidental.

Leesburg Police and Loudoun County Fire and Rescue responded to the Truist Bank at 101 Catoctin Circle SE around 11:30 a.m. for reports of a shooting. They found an adult subject with a gunshot wound to the leg in a car in the parking lot. The patient was transported to a hospital in stable condition.

Leesburg Police spokesperson Michele Bowman said the subject reported that he shot himself while loading a gun. She said there was no indication that the subject had been planning to rob the bank but added the incident remains under investigation…
