CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – The Albemarle County Police Department has arrested an individual in connection with a shooting that occurred late Thursday night on Slate Mill Branch Road.
At approximately 11:15 p.m. Christmas Day, the Albemarle County Police Department and Albemarle County Fire and Rescue responded to a report of a shooting in the 1700 block of Slate Mill Branch Road. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound to the hand. The victim was treated at the scene and transported to UVA Hospital with injuries believed to be non-life-threatening.
During the investigation, officers determined that the suspect and victim knew one another and that the incident was not random. Roland Keith Shifflet, 46, was identified as the suspect.
