December 26, 2025 – Madera CHP officials report that on Friday, December 19, 2025, just after 1:00 p.m., CHP Madera officers responded to a solo vehicle roll-over crash in the area of H Street, and 2nd Street, near the northbound SR-99 on-ramp. A CHP officer arrived within minutes and observed two men walking away from the vehicle.
A 20-year-old was detained at the scene while the other (later identified as the driver) fled on foot. Thanks to the prompted response and coordination between CHP and Madera Police Department the driver was quickly located nearby by Madera PD. During the investigation, the 21-year-old driver was determined to be under the influence of alcohol and placed under arrest.
