Lancaster County Woman, 69, Dies in Mobile Home Fire as Investigation Continues to Determine Cause

The tragic death of a 69-year-old woman, identified as Kathleen Garrity, in a mobile home fire in Lancaster County has been confirmed by local authorities. Local 21 News reported that the fire, which occurred on Tuesday morning in the King’s River Haven mobile home park, resulted in Garrity being pronounced dead at the scene.

Emergency responders from Bainbridge Fire Company arrived at Garrity’s residence on the 2300 block of River Road just before 11 a.m., with the Lancaster County Coroner’s Office dispatched nearly an hour after, at 11:55 a.m. The home suffered extensive damage as flames engulfed the structure. Despite efforts to control the blaze, the coroner’s office, in a statement obtained by FOX43, declared that the cause of death was smoke inhalation and thermal burns, classifying it as accidental.

An investigation by the State Police Fire Marshal was initiated to determine the underlying cause of the fire. As of now, the specific cause remains undisclosed.
