Guns stolen from cars remains a concern despite property crime decrease this year

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Property crime has gone down in Music City this year, but officials said there’s still work to do. News 2 sat down with Nashville Mayor Freddie O’Connell to talk about the year-end crime trends and what’s still causing concerns.

“We want to continue to drive down those crime rates, and I know it’s a challenge in a growing city,” O’Connell said.

Nashville homicides trend down, putting city on track for lowest rate in years

O’Connell told News 2 property crime is one of the notable categories that trended down this year. According to data from the Metro Nashville Police Department, as of Dec. 13, Davidson County has seen an 11% drop in property crime compared to last year.
