Northeast Philadelphia experienced two unrelated shootings on Monday, December 22, 2025, beginning with gunfire inside a busy transit hub in the morning and followed hours later by a domestic shooting inside a home, according to police.
The first incident occurred on Monday at 8:51 a.m. inside the Frankford Transportation Center in the Frankford section of the city. SEPTA police responded to reports of a fight in the lobby of the transit center, located at 5223 Frankford Avenue. When officers arrived, they found two men who had both been shot.
SEPTA officials said the incident began as a physical altercation between the two men. During the fight, one man produced a firearm and shot the other man in the shoulder. The confrontation continued as the two struggled over the weapon, and the gun discharged a second time, striking the original shooter in the hand. Both men were transported from the scene to nearby hospitals. SEPTA police took one man to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital and the other to Temple University Hospital.
