Two people were critically injured after a small plane crashed in a field west of Sacramento McClellan Airport on Wednesday. According to KCRA, Sacramento Fire Department crews responded around 12:30 p.m. near Claire Avenue and Rio Linda Boulevard. The aircraft, a 1966 single-engine fixed-wing plane, had taken off from Rio Linda Airport shortly before the crash.
Two men were aboard the aircraft and were found in critical condition by firefighters, with one trapped and requiring extrication.
