Small Plane Crash Near Sacramento McClellan Airport Leaves Two Men Critically Injured

Two people were critically injured after a small plane crashed in a field west of Sacramento McClellan Airport on Wednesday. According to KCRA, Sacramento Fire Department crews responded around 12:30 p.m. near Claire Avenue and Rio Linda Boulevard. The aircraft, a 1966 single-engine fixed-wing plane, had taken off from Rio Linda Airport shortly before the crash.

Two men were aboard the aircraft and were found in critical condition by firefighters, with one trapped and requiring extrication. Sacramento Fire Captain Justin Sylvia said one man who was initially declared clinically dead was revived, adding, “It looks like they may have just taken off and then had some sort of engine failure,” as reported by ABC10…
