PHOTOS: Safeway tractor-trailer rolls down hill, almost hitting Montgomery County apartment

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) — A tractor-trailer rolled down a hill and almost hit an apartment building in Montgomery County on Friday night.

The Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service said the incident happened at around 7:30 p.m. in the 2500 block of Baltimore Road near Norbeck Road.

Officials said an unoccupied Safeway store tractor-trailer rolled down a hill and crashed through a fence and came to a stop, right before hitting a three-story garden-style apartment building.

Hazmat crews had to be called because over 60 gallons of diesel fuel had spilled.
