APD seeks help finding woman in credit card scheme

AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Austin Police Department asked for help locating a woman who is allegedly connected with a credit card abuse incident that happened in October.

APD said that on Oct. 24, a victim staying at a Hampton Inn discovered that their hotel room had been broken into, and several credit cards were fraudulently used at multiple retail locations.

Footage reviewed by police revealed that the woman used the victim’s credit card at Walmart and Murphy’s gas station on East Ben White Boulevard, as well as a CVS Pharmacy on East Riverside Drive, alongside other retailers.

Police described the suspect as a White or Hispanic female, between the ages of 50 and 55 years old, with a medium build and short, curly hair. She was last seen wearing a dark shirt with khaki pants and glasses…
