Wichita sees a second consecutive day of record heat – with potential for one more

Wichita now has a second-consecutive day of record heat, with chances for a third on Saturday.

Just before 2 p.m. on Friday, Wichita reached 70 degrees, surpassing the previous record of 69 degrees back in 2021. The 2021 record was a tie from 2008, which broke the Dec. 26, 1976, record of 64 degrees, according to National Weather Service data.
