First grade teacher charged with abusing her own kids in the Ruby Falls parking lot

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — A first grade teacher faces abuse charges after her kids told police she bit and scratched them in the Ruby Falls parking lot.

An affidavit we obtained says Chattanooga Police officers were called to the Lookout Mountain Police Department after reports of child abuse on December 12th. A man there told officers two of his children had been with their mother, Heather Pecht. The affidavit says when he picked them up, he noticed they had scratches and scabs on their hands. He says the children told him their mom did it to them.

The man then told officers that this was not the first time, claiming he tried to report years of her abuse on his oldest child to police in Dunlap and Marion County. He told officers that neither department did anything to help him…
