CLINTON, Tennessee — The Skaggs family can rest a little easier tonight, after a $125,000 bill was paid off thanks to the help of donations from the community.
“I think it was at ($98,000) last night, and then she came this morning and was like ‘Look at this, look at this!’ and then it showed ($119,000 or $118,000), it was like a 20-something thousand jump,” Brandon Skaggs said.
The family had fallen behind on their mortgage payments, due to Brandon being between jobs for a few months after getting out of the military, and his wife, Kristy Skaggs, being homebound because of her stage 4 Metastatic Breast Cancer diagnosis…
