Jackson County man accused of impersonating peace officer arrested

MCKEE, Ky. (FOX 56) — Jackson County deputies arrested a man Thursday accused of impersonating a peace officer.

Deputies received a report about 1:30 p.m. Dec. 25 that a driver, identified as James Gabbard, 43, of Lawrenceburg, allegedly stopped in the middle of Lodge Hall Road while honking his horn in an attempt to direct vehicles to a driveway, according to a news release.

Court records show Gabbard allegedly told deputies that he was a police officer after they ordered him to exit the vehicle. Gabbard then reportedly drove away from deputies at high speeds.
