TN Tech professor develops tool to watch rising river levels

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Tennessee has a problem; two-thirds of our rivers and waterways are unmonitored, leaving us blind to sudden changes in water level.

USGS sensors can cost upwards of thousands of dollars, so scientists and civil engineers have to be sparing when deciding where to put them. But a professor at Tennessee Tech University is looking to change that.
