MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) – What a beautiful late December day across the area. Most areas skyrocketed into the 70s this afternoon, with plenty of sunshine. The Grand Strand broke the daily high temperature record. The old record was 75, today we warmed to 76. Florence tied a record daily high at 77. Tonight clouds will increase, as the wind shifts out of the east. Overnight lows will fall into the mid to upper 40s across the region.
Sunday we will have a mostly cloudy day, as easterly flow sets up. Temperatures will be a good 10-15 degrees cooler. A few isolated showers or sprinkles could bubble up Sunday afternoon across the area. Highs will warm into the low to mid 60s close to the coast. Upper 50s to low 60s inland.
A warm and breezy day will start off the new week. Southerly flow ahead of a stout cold front will greet the area. High temperatures will warm into the low to maybe mid 70s from the coast back into the inland areas. A few showers will be possible as the strong cold front pushes through the area…
