KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – One more warm and foggy day before wintry changes Sunday.
FRIDAY NIGHT: What a beautiful day we had! Temperatures made it to the 60s on Friday afternoon. Any plans you have for the evening look just fine. It stays mild in the 50s before dropping into the 40s overnight. The conditions will still be favorable for some dense fog to develop again, especially east of I-35 and north of HWY 36.
SATURDAY: Patchy dense fog is on the table again out there Saturday morning. We could see many hours of reduced visibility, especially across northern Missouri, through mid to late morning before it burns off. At this point, there is no Dense Fog Advisory, but I still think visibility could be down to less than a quarter of a mile at times. Hopefully, we will not see too many travel impacts as people are coming home from the Christmas holiday.
Afternoon highs look very nice again in the 60s. Our wind comes in out of the southeast from 5 to 15 mph. Soak this in as a strong cold front comes in for Sunday.
SUNDAY: Our warmest temperatures on Sunday will be very early in the morning before our next cold front comes crashing through. We are expecting 50s early, with temperatures only in the 30s by the afternoon. There is a First Warn in place as crashing temperatures, strong winds and a wintry mix chance are all on the table.
What could start as some light rain Sunday morning could give way to a small window of a wintry mix into the afternoon as those temperatures crash. At this point, no snowfall accumulation is expected…
