Warm Through the Weekend, Storms Likely Sunday

ST. LOUIS — Not as foggy as Thursday, but there are a few areas dealing with reduced visibility this morning. Our prime weather story into the weekend is the warming trend that continues through Sunday.

Better sunshine Friday and temperatures will warm into the 60s and 70s. St. Louis’ record high for today is 70 degrees set back in 1942.

A strong cold front arrives through the day on Sunday. It will be warm and humid ahead of the front, and this increases the potential for thunderstorms to develop with this system. Most locations are expected to receive at least 0.10″-0.25″ of rain, with higher probabilities (closer to 0.50″) across Illinois.

Behind the front, there is much colder air and gusty winds that return to the Bistate. We go from the 60s Sunday late morning/afternoon to the teens and 20s Sunday night into Monday…
