MESA, AZ (AZFamily) — A busy stretch of an East Valley freeway is back open after a fiery, violent wreck early Saturday morning.
According to the Department of Public Safety, two cars collided on the eastbound lanes of the Loop 202 Red Mountain near McDowell Road in Mesa. Details remain limited at this time, and authorities have not said how many people are injured.
Arizona’s Family witnessed two badly mangled vehicles being towed off the freeway. One vehicle appeared to have caught on fire.
Eastbound lanes of the freeway were shut down from Gilbert Road to Val Vista Drive for a majority of the morning but reopened shortly before 8 a.m. Westbound traffic was unaffected…
