The Applebee’s located at 5613 Spectrum Drive in Frederick will close permanently on Monday, a representative for the restaurant confirmed, with Frederick County’s first Raising Cane’s as the replacement. The sole Montgomery County location in Germantown will continue to operate normally.
According to the representative, the restaurant’s final day of operation will be Monday, December 29, with the location closing at 4pm. The Applebee’s sits near the Francis Scott Key Mall, a busy commercial area that has seen significant redevelopment interest in recent years.
The closure comes as plans move forward for a new restaurant at the site. Frederick City Media has previously reported that the property is slated to become Frederick’s first Raising Cane’s.
